Zen Magazine celebrates Nigeria’s independence month with a new cover featuring Nigerian model, Adetoun Olupitan based out of Chicago. Check it out and see the editor’s note below:
We celebrate Nigeria’s independence month with a cover featuring Nigerian-born model ADETOUN OLUPITAN. Adetoun is currently living in Chicago, working as a Commercial model. She started modelling in 2011 and over the last 3 years, hasworked with many influential industry professionals. From being the new face of international hair care company Organic Root Stimulator to having Naomi Campbell send her an autographed shoe by Prada, Adetoun has had many interesting experiences. This month Toun talks to Zen about how it feels to be modelling in America and why “this is the right time for African fashion”. I am so in love with the energy from African models that we decided to have 3 strong features this month. Victor “Kwen” Akomaye, Hadiatou Bah and Lisa Marie Kotzebue are 3 models who are going right, but the feature that had everyone oohing and aahing was our features with Boitumelo “Boity” Thulo, and Mi Casa from South Africa. We also have a few exclusive images from Africa fashion Week Los Angeles 2013 and I must say, it was such an eye-opening show. We will be making a few changes to our calendar of features for the year, but rest assured, all the things you love are still in your favourite magazine. Let us know what you think about our October cover and all the fabulous features. With an amazing selection of delectable stories, this is one issue you won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
